I just finished to launch this new website:   www.mydatamygain.com

I used Open Element 5 years ago (2015), to make a site.  At the time, I had quite clear idea of what I wanted, but I found myself entering into too many disputes with the service provider  every time that I wanted a minor change or correction.  I got fed up and I looked for alternatives and I found Open Element, which gave me a fantastic result (furthermore considering I had no experienced whatsoever in this)

I did put some hours but the en result was good

I found myself in a similar situation with this new site, but this time I knew that I was going to need  many more corrections, changes, updates etc. and I did not want to depend on the whims & response time frame of a 3rd party, so I dived directly in the self development of the new website.

First shock: Many many changes in the last 5 years, which of courses is very good news, but then the learning curve became very steep again.

Second nice surprise: Many more templates and much more sophisticated views, touch&feel, etc

I am both impressed by Open Element and please of having achieved what I believe to be a very nice site.

My only problem is that I cannot make work the email form  (which is not critical, but it would be nice to solve). Still, the site is now online.

Any comments and feedback -and perhaps a hand on the email form- will be more than welcome

Again thanks Open Element team

It works here.
But it takes a far too long loading time.
Probably the images take too long.
Try to make them smaller (as thumbnail size?).
There ist a possibility to optimize them, give it a try.
You should optimize them once only.
Project ... Preferences ... Maintenance ... Optimize

Isn't there a regulation in the EU, that white letters on black background is forbidden by law?
That is very hard to read, and may damage the eye.
I would change that.

Yes, I still think so.

In the 80s the intelligent Tandberg-2215 Terminal came to market, I was part of the developer crew.
And as far as I remember, the *Berufsgenossenschaft* forced ALL companies to scrap monitors with black backgrund and white letters. And to replace them with white backgrund and black characters.
Until then it was common to have black backgrund and white letters.
Which indeed is hard to read.

Tandberg createt a very very very soft greenish background and enforced black characters.
70 cps refresh rate, completely flicker free.
Those times we didn't have many color terminals.
Today the situtation might differ.

Nonethelesse, I personally can not use black image on oE. That 'hurts'.
I just can't read it. I never could read it.
Until today I don't need eyeglasses, after over 50 years intense computer usage.
But, as sayd, I can read black characters on white background still w/o any trouble.

And who does have a good sight in the night when it is dark?
So black background is contra productive against nature.

Lastnotleast.
Black background reminds me on the inside of a coffin.
The desing may look astonishing nice, but to look into a grave?
It literally scares me away. It instanltly even forces my mood down.
I may not be the only human feeling that way.

So I recommend a 'friendly' background.
Black doens't work for me, never ever.

I agree with you about black background.  I was just surprised by the law.
