Do I need the Thumbnails? No, I don't.
What is their purpose?
How can I prevent them from being created?
Saving some upload transfer.

Hi,

What element or files do you mean?

Oh, I just found out when this happened:
Saving a page also creates a thumbnail.
Is it required, mandatory?
Pobably required for differential publishing?

I meant
/projectname/Common/Thumbnail/####.jpg
Some (automatic?- see time stamps) process created them, and they reflected the whole project pages as thumbs (incl *.upd). Which does not really make sense for me.
They were created today just a few minutes ago, but I donno when and why, just found it strange to see them being transported to the server (filezilla-upload).
I just deleted them manually, and it still works ok.
And now I'm even not able to reproduce them.
So, I don't see any reason for them.
This is just a question (in the learning process - and hopefully with progress).

These thumbnails are used only to show page mini-preview when you hover over a page in the Site Explorer. They are never published with your website.
