It would be a nice function, to select a local file through a file selection dialog like '...' As common in Windows applications.

Hi,
When using the "Download file" element, you can select a file from the Library (images, documents...), this insures that the file makes part of the website and is uploaded. It is true that this functionality is missing for other types of links. I will note to try to add it.

There might be a quick&dirty (temporary?) solution.
If one calls the file-explorer (Windows-Explorer) and selects the directory with that particular (image) file, the whole path will appear in the upper line of the explorer. Move the cursor to that line, and copy that content with the RIGHT mouse button. It will copy the complete path into the clipboard. From there it can be inserted (pasted) into the LOCAL: link field. Two things though: - remove the first directory and the drive name, because the link should be relative, - append the file-name after the path. Fortunately the openelement does not care about slash and backslash, both versions work; and hopefully the server can handle that, too.
It's not a perfect solution, but at least one does not have to type the exact path correctly. Windows-7. I don't no know whether it works with Windows-10.

I will try to allow choosing files in the Files subfolder. Attention - avoid using files that are outside this subfolder, you may have difficulties making this work online.

That I'v noticed already And I'm thinking about another principle. Though it comes in handy to keep the images along with their properties. But there is still filezilla to 'polish'.
