I'd also like to mention a technique for centering content of the page while having a background that takes 100% of the window width.

There are several zones corresponding to the page and its main "containers". They are accessible, for example, by clicking on some empty space then choosing Element Style Zone menu at the top, and there using the 2nd button select Page Background, Main Frame etc.

Each of these zones' style may me customized, notably by setting width (e.g. 100% or fixed px), margin (e.g. left and right = auto), background (image or color). That allows to make designs that fill all the screen with background and have content in the center. It's how openelement.com is designed, for example. You may find this approach useful.

Thanks Dmit and Chris, I'm testing various solutions, here is my considerations:

..., you can assign the text-center-align property to an image and it will center it within its frame.  Then if set to auto width and height, it can be placed at an equal distance from both sides and will stay centered.
I could not do this...

And, yes setting an Outer Margin of half the element's width will center it at 50%.
Not an immediate solution,  I have to calculate the half width of the elements every time I change it, but it works. I think that a "center" function would be very very useful.

For the sidebar, you can also try selecting the built-in footer and giving it a height of 0.  Then, create a group or frame, give it a set height, set Left Distance to 0 and Bottom Distance to the inverse of the header.  So if the sidebar has a Top Distance of 150px to sit below a 150px header, give your new footer a Bottom Distance of -150px and it will stay beneath the sidebar no matter what size the page is.
Ok, It works, I also tried to set the bottom margin = -150 directly in the "sidebar" element (it would be easier), but it doesn't work.

Yes, in fact, selecting the "background" zone I can insert an image as background and repeat it in "x" direction to get a header wide 100% of the screen, but in the "background" zone I can not insert frames, images etc..
However, the pages can be set at specific width and are always centered by default, so the contained elements (images, text...) are centered and that's ok.
