Hi,
While most of the time there are no problems running OE on Win10, you are already 2nd or 3rd person who reports the problem. Could you please tell how you installed Win10 (upgraded older Windows version - which one? did OE worked there before? - or installed on a machine where there was never any other Windows before?) What is the exact version/modification of Win10? Try to disable antivirus (we know that AVG can block OE, for example), launch openElement without opening projects, and create a project without any template - does it work? Then create a project with template, and try to see at which moment it freezes. We really need feedback onthis problem to be able to resolve it. Have a nice day D

Ora D,
I had AVG, which I uninstalled, as well as uninstalling OpenElement. Re installed Open Element and it opens just fine! What Anti Virus programme would you recommend to run that does not interfere with OpenElement? Cheers Michael I upgraded from Win 8.1. OpenElement was a new install on Win 10. Windows 10 Professional (x64) (build 10240) Install Language: English (United Kingdom) System Locale: English (New Zealand) Installed: 5/08/2015 12:44:54 PM Boot Mode: Legacy BIOS in UEF |

Hi,
I've never heard of it. Is it in the list of antiviruses on virustotal.com (when you test a file)? There's a new powerful free antivirus (it seems) you can check: For paid solutions, we use Eset, it is rather good. Have a nice day D

I too am unable to use OE on windows 10, installs ok when clicked to start the start panel shows on desktop and that's it.... nothing. Running AVG, made exception and deactivated but same result.
My windows is 64bit, is that a problem? |

Hi,
No 64bit is no problem normally. Did you try to completely desactivate AVG (not just add exception)? In most known cases of OE+Win10 troubles it's because of AVG, we have'nt yet found why (there are no viruses etc. in OE, and anyway it wouldn't crash like this without any antivirus reports), probably a firewall module of AVG that blocks something important. Have a nice day D

P.S. By the way, with Win10 Family edition inslatted without upgrading an older Windows version, even with AVG openElement runs normally (we've tested). The problem may be related to Win10 incorrectly "migrating" AVG or some components. We'd like as much feedback as possible to find out what's wrong exactly and to find a solution.
