I am new to this software and have not done any HTML programming in a long time. I am trying to figure out how to open an existing html page in this software. I don't understand file structure and project files etc. It wants stuff to be in a project file but not sure how to create one for an existing web page. How do I get my files into the new project? If I remember correctly you start with an index.html in the root folder then put your sub pages in folders in the root. The only editing I have done to my web sight in the last several years if just through a text editor. No pages have been added or significantly modified. I need to add more product pages and am trying to get back up to speed and learn how the software handles and organizes these files and sub folders. The user interface looks pretty straight forward but not sure where it gets files from and where it stores them. When I try to open a file it wants a project file and I don't have one of those since my page was not written in this software. So I am trying to get some idea how the software handles files so I know where my files are. I don't want to start from scratch although that is probably what I will end up doing when I get on my feet again. So where to start. Looking for a BIG picture zoomed out view of how things work. Tutorials and info seem to start at the details instead of the big picture then zoom into the details.

Thanks

Perry

Here is my web sight for what it is. http://motorcycleproducts.org/ I really just want to make a third product pane besides the bar risers and engine guards.

Hi,

OpenElement is an html editor that only works with project created with OpenElement.  It is allmost wysiwyg.  Your project is not compatible with OpenElement.

Obviously your page was created with a text editor.  It is not responsive therefore it does not reacts properly to smaller screens such as cell phone.

With OpenElement, you have two options: start a new project from a model or from a blank page.

Starting your site with Sensode's model or with the Essential model would go smoother .

Otherwise before starting with a blank project will require some studies. There are some user tutorials available on YouTube the first four items on that list might help you.

I could create a rudimentary site for you.
Would not cost anything.
You could continue from that base.
Or start over when you grasped the OE principle.
If you want to. No obligation.

Don't forget the responsive requirement

That I do not know good enough yet.
It would be a rudimentary, but thorough version, that would enable anynody to handle the OE.
When this is finished I would myself sneak into the responsive world. And repeat that process.
I'm still not completely perfect in OE, because I did not have any need for specialties - but I remember my own sad and frustrating basic steps a few years ago.
Such information I missed badly when I started.

Is that ok?
Then let me spin the wheel.
The OE tool is really worth the effort.

btw: What do you think, is there a demand for german language, where I'm pretty good in. :-)
This announced version will be in english language, though.
