    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 at 12:58
I managed to implement the Horizontal Carousel, but ...
two things are strange or cumbersome, nagging.
1) I'd like to modify the *next/previos buttons*.
2) It takes a very very very long time to enlarge a page (clicked).

1) I think I know how to modify an existing element with the element editor,
but I can not even find that (standard) corousel element (dll). Where is it? What's the name?
These two 'buttons' next/previous are too close at the screen's border, and also too close to the carousel's content layout.
So I need these buttons somewhere else to be located. And in a different shape.
No responsiveness required.

The current locations
Right/left of the image too close to the border of the element, and too close to the smartphone's border.

The wanted locations
above the element, and large buttons.

2) When I click on an entity/image of the carousel to enlarge it,
the first time it takes 'forever' to display the clicked object.
It looks like the whole carousel's content is loaded first, and only then the clicked image is displayed.
That long idle time period is confusing the user.
As a preliminary solution I show this blue text (not all selections are working yet).
Can that be changed, and how - just to display the picked/clicked image immediately?
My best guess ist that the server needs some PHP modification. Unfortunately I do not have any idea about PHP, but would not hasitate to learn it. Winter is coming.
Recommendation/solution is very muchos appreciated.
Possible solution could be: How could I implement a spinning 'preloader' at that place? Would not be so elegant, but better than nothing (as it is now).

I tried the Owl Responsive Carousel. But that does not allow me to click on an image to enlarge it. So I had to stick to the standard horizontal image carousel. It nicely does the job.
Well, it takes a long time to upload to the server even in differential mode, and to create the site locally (Export to Folder). The project is not small though, it mounts up to slightly more than 10 GB in real life. I wonder if and when the PC is at the end with 16 GB ram. Just curious: where does it collect the site internally when uploading it? Disk space is not of concern; I use SSDs.

Again and again I'm astonished how nice OpenElement is working - once one gets the grip on it. Thank you buddies for that excellent job.
Special thanks for the tutorial to explain how to create your own responsive menu

Some elements are included in OpenElement source code, therefore they are not accessible.

Some of them are inherited from the original version and are outdated.  They are kept for retrocompatibility.

They are not responsive, reason why I never use them.

Well, that makes it clear. The old rule keeps true.
On an empty disk one may search forever. Geek

I stick with this solution.
It's not perfect as could be, but it's working just fine.
May be I'm going to write such flexible element - somewhen...
Once -for 12 years- I earned my 'wage' with MS-VisualStudio (MFC & C++), so I should know how to handle that. Was a hard an unpleasant job. Until I turned to Qt.

I do not need responsiveness, that would be confusing in this project.

Skitter:
Yes, I even implemented the skitter on the Home page.

I found the Image Strip nice, and 'll give it a try.

The 'problem' is the handling on a desktop PC, where one can not swipe.
You need a mouse. And to build a huge horizontal page might be close to impossible.
So my decision was to build static pages with 'TOC'.

Did you search the net for a slider that provides what you need?

If you found one, let me know.
