I haven't tested it yet but Nico38 (forum french side) developed a blog template.  It might be a good solution for you.

Hi again,

Thanks for pointing me to Nico38 blog template. I went through it... and there is a lot to study -at least for me-. Since I have more blog entries before I get there, I decided to create the actualites2 page in the meantime.

As it was recommended above I used text/buttons to link the consecutive posts from actualites to the new actualites2 and I see that the button has borders which cannot be modified? ("Modifying default  presets is not available").

Is there any way to access those preset variables and change them?

I think I understand what you mean.
You can change the borders in the css/style, for a particular state (normal/hover/...).
But it appears that there is a lack.
You also HAVE TO CHANGE THE WIDTH OF THE BORER, to achive the border-color to change.
After it changed the border color, you may revert the width to any size.

For each color I use different border colors (style):
