Can anyone tell me where openElement stores the images. I have just deleted the images folder and copied it to another for backup. Created a new folder with only 8 images and openElement is still showing me the old folder, which I obviously don't want. Thank you in advance,

OpenElement stores images under "your project name"\Files\Image
There is not much we can do without seeing your project. Is it avilable on the net? Where? |

You obviously deleted a folder.
THAT DESTROYES THE PROJECT COMPLETELY AND IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS NO RECOVER POSSIBLE. A long time ago I urged to correct that very serious bug. (the links inside the referenced posts are no longer valid). My recent post there ist NOT TRUE. Even if you delete a folder with the WindowsExplorer, it does show that folder again on new loading/starting. You simply can not get rid of ANY FOLDER. Pages in any folder may be deleted, tough. If you delete an FOLDER with oE, it destroys the complete project. Seems to be some databank mishandling. AGAIN, it should (MUST!) be corrected asap. I hope you have a copy of the project. If not - start over again. Edited by digizar - Jul 01 2019 at 5:08pm |

Hello DigiZar: Thank you for replying. Yes, I do have a copy of the project and no worries, however, it took a long time to learn openElement (the little that I know). I do not want to use any other software, however, it also has plenty of bugs and it is hard to keep up with the loop holes that should be fixed versus the ones that are really not that important. I am more concentrated on finishing my project but the software seems to have also updated itself and now it keeps crashing on me. Symantec deemed the executable file as infected and put the setup file into Quarantine. I don't know if that has anything to do with anything but I am simply reporting it. The rest of my system is working just fine. I am recording, streaming and doing other work on the computer but the problems starts to happen with openElement when I begin to use it to try to finish. I do appreciate your response and I do agree with you 100%. Thank you nonetheless. Dwight

There is something more you could try.
if the disk ist full, and you perform an 'export to folder', the drive may appear to be full. Even if you deleted the created files. That causes 'some inconveniens'. You MUST empty the recylcle bin occasionally (That is windows system specific). What about the RAM? Working storage size. 4 GB is working for average sites, but 16 GB is better. Dear Hobby001: Thanks for your reply. Finally got to my images folder under \Files\Image like you stated. Thank you for that information. I will be publishing the project up on the Internet very very soon and will send you an email so you can see what I have done. Maybe within the next 2 weeks. Really appreciate all of your help. Thank you again. Sincerely, Deewebdev

Hello Digizar: Thank you for your reply and your ongoing support. I currently use 16g for RAM memory and the hard disk is 1 Terabyte. I have no problems with my system and like I mentioned before, I never did have any problems with openElement before until now. It seems that the larger your project gets the more erratically OE seems to behave. Nonetheless, I will take your advice and again, I appreciate all the help you have provided. Thank you deewebdev

So, it must be something with your environment. What about a link to your site? If it works, sure.
Or submit a zip file, as I did. Edited by digizar - Jul 04 2019 at 11:13am |
