I created a site using OE and am having trouble getting apache 2.4 to run it. I have my own web server to host my site. I am running Fedora-27 on a Dell 1950. How do I setup httpd.conf in order to run the site. Currently, I have set up httpd.conf based on how I have done so to run other sites. Apache starts ok, but I get 404 errors in the browser when I try to access it. When I publish the site using OE, with the check box checked to "automatically open the website after publishing", the Fedora test page indicating that apache is handling the server's web pages is brought up. However, it should be showing my OE site. I get the 404's when I try to bring up the site by entering the ip address in the address text box of the browser (Firefox). I appreciate any assistance you can offer.

Hi, First of all, try to temporarily rename .htaccess file in the website root and see what happens. This thread may (or not) interest you: |

Renaming .htaccess didn't help. What would help is if I could see a copy of httpd.conf from a working Apache server. My email address is dmuchowf@charter.net

Try to delete all that OE uploaded to the server, then create manually 2 files test.txt and test.html with "Ok" inside, in the appropriate folder (which depends on your configuration and is not necessarily the root, it may be public_html, www etc.). Try to open it in the browser to see what happens. I don't know whether httpd.conf can help, if it can search for examples for apache 2.4. I imagine that it should be server-specific.

I discovered the problem. It was selinux. I disabled it, now works fine. Except now I can's upload the site from the openElement platform. So, I am using WinSCP to synchronize my local files to the server. A little kludgie but it works. Thanks for the help.
