I'm new to this forum and this is my first experience to install openElement on my Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) system. Installation was successful but when try to execute it from its desktop icon, this error message appears:
"openElement.exe is not a valid Win32 application". Is this version 1.57 R9 not compatible with Windows XP 32 bit system or I should use an older version of openElement? Please suggest a compatible older version of openElement if anyone knows. Thanks a lot for your time. Edited by u75 - Feb 25 2018 at 11:05am |

It seems that last supported version of openElement for Windows XP SP3 (32bit) was 1.56.5 because now I am using it without any problem. Before this, I’ve tested several releases of 1.57 version (1.57.9, 1.57.4 and 1.57.3) on Windows XP and all gave same startup error (although after successful installation) that “openElement.exe is not a valid Win32 application”. All these versions have same file sizes i.e. 60.8 MB while 1.56.5 version has file size of 47.85 MB. May be the developer has added some components that are not compatible with Windows XP.
For Windows XP users, this is the download link:

Hi,
Thank you four your tests. At some point we've upgraded .Net Framework to be able to continue improving OE, it may be the reason why it stopped to be compatible with older Windows versions. |
