Tuning:
Please place these 2 (3?) buttons in both settings *Project* / *Page* always at the same position:
*Publish to Web* always on the right.

Hi,

Too many users are used to have Publish to Web to the left of Export to Folder. However, we can move Publish to Web to the left of Preview, will this be Ok?

My opinion
Preview is the one most used and logically should be the last item on the line, and have the preview button also in Project tab

If possible to have the preview as a separate toolbar item regardless of tabs - project - page - element style zone -, because when the focus is on a group of elements for example I have to click outside the group of elements to be able to see the preview button

I never use this preview button, I always use the one in the top-most menu bar which is always visible, or F12 key which does the same. I don't even know why we left this button in the Page menu...

Yes, I observe the same.
But, don't care too much (if at all).
I can live with any constellation.

I also use the preview very seldem.
So it could be anywhere, but the two buttons should not change/swap the position.
I made so many 'Exports to Folder' ... *g*.
Because the header lines are not the same for *Project* and *Page*. Just confusing.

Whatever you do, is correct - as long as the order of the locations do not change.
Just put all three in a row. I would not vote for another header line, there is enough space in the current line.

The preview button is not always visible, when an element has focus the element style zone tab is also in focus and there is no preview button here.

Maybe the best solution is to have a customized toolbar as in ms office and each individual do whatever fits their style.

What could be useful is to have an option to open all available browsers for preview with one button, or something similar to super view of expression web 4 but I am sure you can do it better

Thank you for the F12 tip

I am talking about this toolbar and Preview button:

Its advantage is that it allows to choose the browser for preview. It is always visible when a project is loaded. And it corresponds to F12 keyboard key.

I see that point LOL
The 'disadvantage' is, one would have do 'search' for that button.

The F12 is a good idea, as long as one has two free hands.
Who holds the 'cup-a-tea' then? If one of them ist busy with the mouse. Big smile

Three buttons in a row ist thee ultimate solution.
I agree the Preview button @ rightmost location.

I didn't expect that you guys are working on saturday.
Recommend to keep min one eye on your mate.
My experience is three divorces beause they could not cope with that kind of IT-Business.

I saw it now and thank you for pointing that for me, as I never noticed it before

It just shows you how much we know as users, very little.

I will try to analyze why I didn't notice, as it might help

1 - The top bar preview is too small in comparison to the other on the page tab
2 - it is quite a distance to go by mouse
3 - it is a different color
4 - the arrow looks like a play button
5 - we are used to the word preview with a lens like in Microsoft office

some of these points might not be logical but this is how it was perceived.

Now I will take the time to click on everything to know what it does

Thank you for this discussion to you and digizar

Not to bitch or to yell!
But to make it clear:
My 'logic' ist that the top line is reserved for 'settings' or 'constant tool modification'. Like the skin selection.
Or for a 'range selection' like *Project* or *Page* ...
NOT for any ACTION, p.e. for a work action like 'Publish to Web'.
And ... the Action line content should never change.
So, p.e. 'Save' and 'Save All' should be visible in every situation.
May be an action button is grayed out, if not usable, but should never change the position.
But that are peanuts.

@fkhattab Yes you are right, there are so many things, I also did not notice yet. Some points still to clarify. Some are (still) confusing (for me). But step after step it becomes clearer. Fortunately I'm in the position to have any time of the world, I do not have to strive for money anymore.

The tool is excellent.
