Thanks for the advice. I'll consider that in v2 of the site. The site will be quite static since it is my consulting companys site, and I'm mainly a sub contractor, so it's "just" there for show.

The other point is that working this way does not allot responsive images.
We are living in an era where mobile devices are the main tool to visit internet therefore all sites must be built accordingly. Google ranking is also made on responsible site capabilities.
