s.o.=Windows 7 32bit updated cpu: Athlon 64 ram=2GB server host= Altervista openelement vers= 1.53R2 i have a problem with a font. I used the font FREEHAND 591 BT for my ABOUT US section. When i make a preview in Google Chrome all works, but when i publish the page in the server, it shows the section (i used a multi line text inside a group of element) with a default font. Of course i tried to update the page (F5) and to open it from the server but nothing. I tried to check some errors (even if i'm not an expert) with the F12 in Chrome, but it seems ok. Any ideas about it? Thanks in advance. Cheers. Edited by JOKgraphics - Mar 17 2016 at 1:13pm |

Hi,
As usually, I need the link to see what's wrong. |

I see the "freehand"-style font, in Firefox and Chrome. Try Ctrl+F5, not just F5.

Hi admin,
i did what You suggested but nothing. I tried under Linux with Firefox but nothing. Then i opened the page's source code in Chrome and i checked the line 9: <link id="siteFonts" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Files/Fonts/Fonts.css?v=50491126800" />
if You open it with a click, You can see that there are only 3 (Aclonica,Circled and Syncopate) of 4 fonts i put in my site so i guess (but it is only my opinion) that OE didn't save the file in the right way (it omissed the code for the FREEHAND 591 BT). Please give a check too, maybe You know more than me. Thanks. Cheers. P.S.: if i wasn't enought clear, i attach 2 images at the link: http://1drv.ms/1mWLk3Q

Hi admin,
ok i got the solution even if i don't know why i have had to do that, i thought it was automatic. Line 9 in source code: <link id="siteFonts" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Files/Fonts/Fonts.css?v=50491126800" />
when i publish the page with OE the font.css file is saved as Fonts.css?v=50491126800 i deleted ?v=50491126800 (from the server) so now the link is to the Fonts.css. in fact font.css exists in the host server, whyle Fonts.css?v=50491126800 didn't exist in the host server. Why had i to do that? isn't it automatic? May You check if&why OE save the file in that way? Tell me Your opinion please. Thanks. Cheers. attach: http://1drv.ms/1mWLk3Q

The "?v=xxxx" part is the URL parameter, which is used simply to avoid using old files stuck in the browser cache. It references the same file.
The URL http://jokgraphics.altervista.org/site/Files/Fonts/Fonts.css?v=50491126800 works fine in my browser (click it to check in yours), opening the good file with Freehand font in it (which is expected as I can see the file). Why it does not work in your browser is a mistery, but it is absolutely not normal and never seen before (this format is in OE for quite a while now). Try on another computer, you will normally see it working. |

Don't forget that every time you save your page (or every time you publish online, according to where you did the manual change), the change will be lost and you will have to redo it again.
I confess that I have no idea where this issue may come from, but I don't think any of your visitors will experience it. |
