    Posted: Jun 13 2020 at 4:20pm
Question
Given an ordinary Button Link or Image (ElementType) on a page.
Established with a 3px border of any colour.
Selection:ElementType ... Style ... xxx ... Main Frame ... Normal ... Borders ... Color

On Mouseover the color of the border should change
Selection:ElementType ... Style ... xxx ... Main Frame ... Mouseover ... Borders --- Color

It does it in the normal creation mode.
But it does not do anything neither in Preview nor in WebsitePublished mode.

What do I possibly miss?
It really bugs me, because it seems to be that simple, but no success so far.

BTW:
What does mean
*No modification* in the properties?
I can use these setting to show or hide the affected element (Yes / No / ...),
that's clear, but what is *no modification* ?

You may have done something wrong.

Look at this page, there is an image and a button link both with hover effect

No modification stands for no action, the item stays as it is

The two other options are there to revert/change the actual state

Thanks, compadre, for enlightening me :-)

Well, it works in other situiations - since years.
The hover seems to be ok, but why doesn't it do the job with other elements? In other configuration?

Just don't care it right now - I'll definietively find out -
and report here.

When ever you face that issue, let us know the element.

I promise .-)

What bugs me:
It changes the border in the creation/design mode, perfectly as expected.
But it does not do anything neither in Preview nor in WebsitePublished mode.
I may change the color in *Normal* mode, but not @ *Mouseover*.

Well, that's not completely true.
If modifying the static border color, one also has to modify the thickness of the border to affect the color in preview and publish mode. No border thickness change  > no border color change. Something is hanging there.

The shadow (CSS3) ist working perfectly.
I know that does not have much in common with the borders.
So my question was what means *No modification* (solved, thanks).

I'll track it down and put a sample online.
Intil then just don't care.

Just now fiddeling with the cam studio.
So far I was used on *Wink*, another capture utility,
that unfortunately creates just *.swf files only, and no movie/clip.
'Some work' to be done with element editor, too.
You see, I'm booked till xmas min. ;-)

Enjoy the spring time, but don't get stung

Are trying to add the shadow effect to the videos?

No, I did not use these video elements (images) for different *mouseover border colors*.
Also I stripped the *mouseover border colors* in ALL shown elelements.
Except the navigation buttons (button Links) have shadows working AND button borders working fine on mouseover.
If the need araises, I would just use ButtonLinks to exhibit the images.

Plain said, NO IMAGES work with mouseover.
Even if they work in edit mode.

I postponed that issue.
