I have some directories in my project. They contain jpg-images.
And -so far- they have been pulled into the 'Files...images'.
Worked fine so far. Even if they take twice the space, does not really matter.
Then I transferred the jpgs directly into a sub-directory of 'Files...images'
here named 'flags_laender' and 'fotos_firmen'.
Also marking them 'all' (Ctrl + A) in the source, and transferring them with 'Select' worked fine, too.
I have then removed one of the 'original' directories, used the Site Explorer x.

Because those files were now contained in one of the image-subdicretories.
The source directory disappeared as expected.

But a subsequent rebuild of the project created disaster:
Only part of the output files were build, especially the 'index.htm' was not created.
Though index.css was created. Not in both versions 'Export to Folder' and 'Publish to Web'.
That situation is solid. And there seems to be no way back.
God heavens I made a backup before (as usual when I make a substantial modification).

I put the complete project-source -zip- (the correct version) on the known Domain and give you the link.
Proceed as simple as possible, I nailed it down:
Run the Build process, which works fine.
Then remove one of the folders in the Site Explorer, here '_fotos_firmen'.
That folder disappears, which is ok as expected.

Now run either 'Publish to Web' or 'Export to Folder'.
And now have a look what is going to be published.

Hi,

I reproduced and noted to see into it.
OE considers that the website file structure is as follows:
 - several "special" folders created by OE - Templates, Files, WEFiles, Data, Backup, Common; the Files folder being the place for all non-page files - images, manually written scripts etc.
 - key files in the root: homepage "index", robots.txt, .htaccess
 - pages in the root and in subfolders.

Which means that OE does not imagine any folder other than the specified above, and each non-"special" folder is considered to contain pages, and only pages. As noone is supposed to "manually" create and copy folders and files (while everyone does it actually) rather than use Site Explorer and Project->Resources, there's probably no protection from this scenario, as one can't create a subfolder outside of Files and put images into it.
I will try see what exactly happens, but it may take some time, I am badly overloaded.

That structure is exactly as I figured out, as development advanced.
That is why I transferred the images of the source-diretories to 'Files'...'Image' ... 'subfolder'.
I thought I could just remove the source-directories through Site Explorer 'x', once their contents are transferred.
That caused the trouble.

But I found a real stupid solution:
I just deleted the source-directories via the ordinary File-Explorer.
Restarted the project; worked w/o any complaint.
Oh man, as simple as that - and it worked perfectly. Stupid enough. LOL

There are still many things to learn.
And lucky, I am not under pressure.

It means the bug is in the delete procedure of Site Explorer. I will try to look into it.
